125 th JONAS BILIUNAS’ ANNIVERSARY

 

Right away after Easter, Jonas Biliūnas Museum invites its visitors to a series of events on the 125 th anniversary of Biliūnas’s birth. On that occasion, in the village of Niūronys, in the barn of the Horse Museum actors are going to perform a play, while a mini-performance called An Elegy to Jonas Biliūnas is to be given in the Chapel.

This is also in the Chapel that a theme night Biliūnas’s world-view, morals and mission is prepared by literature scholars to the audience of Anykščiai.

For Lithuanian school pupils the Museum has also announced a contest of paintings to illustrate the oeuvre by Biliūnas. Senior pupils may take part in a quiz show on Biliūnas’s life and creation on Internet.

It is intended to hold a summer camp for creative children in Niūronys.

This summer, the House Museum of Jonas Biliūnas is going to meet its visitors with its newly thatched roof and a new artistic directional marker. Visitors will be able to buy anniversary souvenirs.
