10th, in the Bronė Buivydaitė Memorial Museum
there was held a seminar on the writer’s 108th
birthday. The seminar’s subject was called “A
writer and an epoch”. A number of people who
used to know the writer as well as museum
employees, deportees of WW II, teachers and
students came to have a warm conversation on the
subject and have a cup of tea. Museum assistant
Alma Ambraškaitė told a story on Buivydaite’s
life full of hardships in the soviet times.
Students of A.Baranauskas secondary school read
the writer’s letter revealing her spiritual
bearing and the strength of her soul. The
deportees of WW II sang songs of the postwar
years. Liucija Vanagienė, Rožė Klimašaukaitė,
the writer’s secretary, and teacher Sofija
Pakalnienė, the writer’s neighbour, shared
their warm recollections on Bronė Buivydaitė.
